Return to Sport Testing
Return to sport is the final phase of recovery where you are deemed fit to play a sport the way you did before an injury. Sports medicine experts help athletes return to play as early as possible. However, returning before adequate healing increases the risk of re-injury, which usually requires an extended recovery time.
We will complete return to sport testing when it is deemed appropriate by you’re your physician and your therapist.
Return to sport testing will be comprised of different plyometric, strengthening, and endurance exercises on operative side and non-operative side. Your therapist will compare your operative to non-operative side. Most times you will need to score a minimum of 90% on your operative side compared to non-operative. Your therapist and physicians will use this information along with their physical exams on when to release you to return to sport.
